I wish I had been able to read this book last year when my husband got out of the military. It would have saved us lots of arguments and harsh words. This is an awesome book of advice that I think we can all use in regards to our own goals, communication skills, spirituality, and respect for our spouse. I loved the techniques you talked about and the encouragement you provide throughout the book that it is ok to feel whatever you are feeling. I would highly recommend this book to all women...even if their husbands were not out of work.

As a school counselor, I see the turmoil a job loss can create in families. The tips and techniques in this book will help families cope with that turmoil and create positive solutions to their challenges. I especially like the emphasis on keeping the family strong through increased communication, working as a team, and spending quality time together. I highly recommend this book to families who are coping with job loss.

I wish I had this book when I experienced my husbands lay-off in Nov 2001. Initially there was confusion and shock and then during the six months of the job search, I felt every emotion imaginable from fear to anger to resentment to guilt. I was unsure how to handle my emotions because after all it wasnt me who had been laid off; it was his lay-off. I did not feel entitled to my feelings and did not have anyone to really talk to about these feelings. What a difference this workbook would have meant to me. When I read Lynnes words, I knew this was someone who understood and was a resource for me. I felt like we were sitting in my kitchen and talking as friends. Even now with my husband back to work for almost a year, I still have feelings left over from that time and this book has helped to clarify them and heal them. Unfortunately more of my friends have had to experience their husbands lay-offs. However, because this book, I am better able to act as a resource and friend to them. I highly recommend this workbook to them and to you. Thanks for writing such a wonderful and much-needed book!

If ever there was a book whose time has come, it is this one, especially since the changing trends in employment mean that more and more men are finding themselves put out of a job that they thought would last forever.
Men are not the only ones whose lives are thrown into turmoil when they lose their job. Lynne Klippel has written the answers for every woman who has ever, or will ever, find herself in the position of bread-winner when her husband/partner loses his job.
Lynne has an innate understanding of the situation from the womans perspective. The guidance and advice contained in this book is invaluable. You will learn not only how to cope, but you will gain greater insights and become stronger. This book will not only help you salvage your relationship with your husband, but your entire family unit will benefit from the wisdom in these pages.
